CHEDDAR Postdocs Shine at the Lord Kelvin 200 Years Event

As part of the University of Glasgow’s celebrations for Lord Kelvin’s 200th anniversary, the event titled “Empowering Diverse Voices: Shaping Pathways for a Sustainable Future” brought together researchers and professionals from across disciplines. Sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society TC Innovation Fund, IEEE ComSoc UK & Ireland, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society UK&I, and IEEE WICE, the event focused on pressing themes like net-zero initiatives and smart Sessions covered topics like smart cities, smart buildings, healthcare, space, energy management, Researchers showcased their work through dynamic poster presentations.

Congratulations to the Best Poster Winners:

1st Prize: Reyna Victoria Jaime Arellano (Edinburgh Napier University) – “Comparison of alternative sustainable materials for photovoltaic silicon production.”

2nd Prize: Vinamra Sharma (Amped Digital, University of Glasgow) – “TeraVerde: Accelerating the
Renewable Energy Transition.”

3rd Prize: Ogochukwu Ejike (University of the West of Scotland) – “Machine Learning-based Adaptive Rain Prediction for Tropical Climate to Mitigate the Impact of Climate Change.”
