Professor Julie McCann, Director of the CHEDDAR Hub,  will deliver a keynote at the 1st International Conference on Synergies in Next-Generation Cyber-Physical Systems (SNGC 2026)in Cardiff this September.

The conference takes place from 16–18 September 2026 at Cardiff Metropolitan University, with a hybrid programme bringing together researchers and experts working across sensing, control, computation and cyber-physical systems.

Julie will speak during the conference’s opening keynote session on 16 September from 10:00–11:10, alongside Professor Rajiv Ranjan from Newcastle University.

SNGC 2026 focuses on collaboration between sensing, control and computation — areas closely aligned with CHEDDAR’s work to advance future communications and distributed computing technologies.

Julie’s participation will provide an opportunity to share perspectives from CHEDDAR’s research and contribute to wider discussions about the technologies and systems that will underpin increasingly connected, intelligent and responsive environments.

The three-day programme also includes keynote and invited talks, contributory papers, parallel sessions, industry talks and poster sessions, with speakers joining from universities and institutions around the world.
