CHEDDAR Researchers Take Leadership Roles at IEEE ICC 2026

Congratulations to Professor Muhammad Ali Imran, Professor Qammer H. Abbasi and Dr Syed Ali Raza Zaidi from the CHEDDAR Hub team on their leadership roles at the IEEE International Conference on Communications 2026, one of the world’s leading conferences in telecommunications and networking research.
Professor Muhammad Ali Imran served as Executive Chair, Professor Qammer H. Abbasi served as Operations Chair, and Dr Syed Ali Raza Zaidi served as Patronage and Exhibits Chair for the conference, which welcomed thousands of researchers, industry leaders and innovators from around the world to Glasgow.
IEEE ICC is a flagship annual conference of the IEEE Communications Society, bringing together experts from academia, industry and government to explore the latest advances in wireless communications, artificial intelligence, 6G, network technologies, sensing, security and future digital infrastructure.
Together, the CHEDDAR colleagues played central leadership roles in the planning, delivery and success of the conference, helping to shape its technical programme, operations, industry engagement and international partnerships.
CHEDDAR was proud to participate as a Diamond Patron of IEEE ICC 2026, demonstrating its commitment to advancing cutting-edge communications research and fostering collaboration across the telecommunications ecosystem.
Professor Julie A. McCann also contributed to the conference programme, participating in the Executive Forum and serving as a panellist in discussions on the future of communications technologies and international collaboration.
